I'm a New Consultant. Now What?

Congratulations on taking the first step to changing your life!  Thirty-One has been such a blessing to me and my goal is to help you have the same blessing with Thirty-One!

  • While you are waiting for your kit, go ahead and get your parties scheduled.  I would recommended that you have a Debut show or an Open house event.  This is a great opportunity to share your new business with your family and friends.  You also will be able to get all of the great hostess benefits on top of your commission.  The focus of this party is to generate excitement for your business and to get bookings.  If people aren't able to come, call them about your business.

  • Set goals for yourself and your business!  When I first started, I sat down and made goals for myself.  This included how many home shows, catalog shows, recruits, vendor events, fundraisers and dream points I wanted each month.  Then I put this in a spreadsheet to print out and look at every day in my office.  A goal not written down is just wishful thinking!!

  • Personalize your website.    Your website address is www.mythirtyone.com/xxxxx (your 5 digit consultant ID).  From there you can change your website name to something other than your ID.  You can also add your photo, update your story, add your events and much more.  Here is a link to my website so you can get some ideas

  • Make labels or a stamp so you can easily add your contact information to all of your catalogs, orders forms, invitations, etc.  when you get your kit.  You can buy labels from Thirty-one under the business supply or you can even print them yourself using Microsoft word.  Vistaprint.com is a great website for marketing materials that you can get for free when you pay shipping.

  • Set up a separate email account for your Thirty-One business.  You can get a free account with Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail and many more.  You can even get one that has something to do with Thirty-One.  Mine is amandathirtyone@yahoo.com.  This helps them to remember your email better.
  • Set up a separate checking account with a debit or credit card.  All payments must be processed with a credit/debit card.  If you don't have a seperate checking account, you may want to have a seperate credit card to process payments.  Look for cards with rewards for purchases!
  • Set goals to meet your startswell dates.  This is a great way to get free business supplies!  It also helps to get your business going in the right direction.  Click here to view the flier for the program
  • Check the home office website DAILY for important announcements and updates.  This is the main communication for consultantsand the website is for consultants only - www.thirtyonetoday.com  Login: consultant31  Password: love31

  • Take part of CER101. This is the new consultant training provided by Thirty-One.  Click here to view the training calendar.  There are two classes that you should attend.  One is about the basics of getting started and the other is to explain the websites.  The classes are on Monday nights.  You do not have to listen to them in any particular order.

  • Pray about your business.  This is the most important step!  Ask God to bless your efforts and your business.  Allow Him to provide hostess, customers and consultants to you.  When you allow Him to provide for you it really takes the pressure off of you to be perfect.  You still need to work hard to make your dreams come true, but knowing He is on your side will allow your business to go even further!

I am here to encourage and empower you to be the best Independent Business owner you can be. Some people you know may view this as a hobby, but I encourage you to realize this is a legitimate business regardless if this is part time or full time!  Whatever your goals are you CAN reach them.  It takes some hard work at times, but anyone can be successful in this business!

Thirty-One is based on Proverbs 31

    Proverbs 31:10-31

10 A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.
    11
Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.
    12
She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.
    13
She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.
    14
She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.
    15
She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls.
    16
She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
    17
She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.
    18
She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.
    19
In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
    20
She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.
    21
When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
    22
She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
    23
Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
    24
She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes.
    25
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
    26
She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
    27
She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
    28
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
    29
"Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."
    30
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
    31
Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
